Paisajes fascinantes: blanco

Caracter helped Marcela Outside with this editorial design project. We approached this book design as we do all similar projects, from a branding experience approach. We wanted the experience to be unique and accompany the reader on the book’s journey. For this reason, different sections of the book are treated in different manners. For example, some spreads are simple and let the photographs take center stage, others are shown next to photographs that help tell the story together.

LAYOUT DESIGN

We designed each spread to accommodate the book’s different sections. Here you can see how some layouts involved showing behind-the-scenes content, so we accompanied these with sketches and Marcela’s hand-written notes from her adventures.

The exterior of the book is our favorite part! It shows the amazing glacier photograph that we thought deserved to be the hero image, and we love how both covers work individually or together when open. And lastly, our favorite detail is the tiny hiker on the spine!
