SIMPLE CREations recipe book design

Caracter helped Sofia Torre with the editorial design of her recipe book, Simple Creations. It shows a collection of over 100 recipes and a section of table styling and hosting tips. Our input involved creating the overall system for the book’s identity, as well as different layouts for recipes and different types of content. For titles and headlines, we used Domenico, a font designed by Adriana Longoria, which gives the book an elegant, traditional touch.

RECIPE LAYOUTS

We developed a simple layout for the recipe content, where everything is accessible and easy to follow. Each recipe has a small introduction, ingredients, preparation and the occasional tip.

TABLE SETTING LAYOUTS

For the final section of the book, the layouts became a little more dynamic and playful, while maintaining the general style of the book. We allowed for non-recipe content to change in terms of how texts and photographs are styled.
