THE BRIEF

Casa Casco approached us with the goal of creating a brand that not only honors the rich history of San Pedro but also reflects the warm, inviting feeling of visiting a beloved family home. The project was to encompass the nostalgic charm of the Casco neighborhood while giving the space a modern, sophisticated touch that would resonate with locals and visitors alike.

SOLUTION

We drew inspiration from the iconic architecture of Casa Casco itself—especially the entrance and historical design elements—infusing them with a fresh perspective. Our goal was to create a brand that felt timeless yet contemporary, rooted in the past but welcoming to a modern audience. By referencing typography from the early 1900s in Mexico, a period rich in artisanal and industrial design, we created a blend of vintage charm and modern sophistication. The typography reflects the unique aesthetics of that time, which were widely used in signage, advertisements, and print materials, offering a nod to the local history and identity. We also incorporated subtle nods to vintage tableware and decor to enhance the sense of nostalgia and warmth.

DESIGNING THE LOGO & EMBLEM

The brand’s emblem took its cue directly from the architecture of the building, with particular attention to the distinctive details of the entrance. We used these as the foundation for the design, making sure that the logo conveyed a sense of place and history. The typeface selection drew specifically from Mexican 1900s design, incorporating elements of bold, decorative typography used in the country during that period. This style evokes the elegance and craftsmanship of the time while ensuring the overall look is inviting and approachable. The overall design is a tribute to both the legacy of the Casco de San Pedro and the timeless charm of a home filled with memories and history.
